The tsunami in the picture is really the shadow projected on the climate problem. The sustainability and climate justice people are really trying to save the planet from themselves (their own shadow). They are really running away from their own shadow projected outside on others and the environment. Their own way of thinking and shadow less state remains the problem at essence and their shadow is the very tsunami threatening this form of thinking. The western approach to so-called saving the planet, is unconsciously saving it from themselves and their own concepts and views of it, which still remain seeing it as a resource as an object.
The problem is the concepts themselves they think in because they are inherently separated from feelings, practices and action. This is why those most touting sustainability are those most destructive of it. The only way is to see ourselves. we are the problem not the environment. The course of the western psyche needs to change. It cannot see itself.
The west cannot get back into real connection with the indigenous (view) via knowledge or knowledge weaving. It can only happen via going inward via shadow work and going deeper and deeper inward. Not by going outward. Like now the ecological movement does.
The big problem with the west is the shadow and even with the best of intentions they/we remain seeing Earth as resource(object/particle) and climate as something external. Decolonization not only is repairing and healing the abused from trauma but the biggest problem is the shadow of the descendants ‘nazaten’ of the colonizers also.
The problem of reconnecting with the indigenous is that it cannot come from concepts cause they are inherently separated from “practice”. It is to come from going deep within towards the indigenous core of our own being.
